The 7th May saw Minerva Bath head to Cleveland Lake in the Cotswold water park. There was a strong Junior component and all were keen to start the regatta season off with some wins.

The day was split into two different events with the morning session being devoted to a 12oom head race and the afternoon session seeing a 750m regatta.
The morning head race started well. Frazier Christie and Marcus Larbalestier romped to victory in the J18 2x, posting the fastest time of the session. Christie raced again in the J18 1x winning his category easily to post the third fastest time of the morning. Not to be out done Charlie Falkus won the J17 1x category after coming third with Ollie Williams in the J18 2x.

The afternoon saw the winning streak continue. The J18 2x of Christie and Falkus and to hold off a fight from Larbalestier and Williams in the final to give Christie his third pot of the the day. The clubs other win came from the womens squad with Helen Atherton and Elaine Hoyes sculling brilliantly to claim there first win in the Womens novice 2x.

A brilliant start to the season and we look forward to Avon County regatta.....
