This weekend the 21st May 2011, Minerva Bath took part in the Avon regatta on their own stretch of river with another fantastic result for the juniors and veterans.
The J18 singles saw 3 members of the Minerva junior squad finishing in the top 4, with Frazier Christie beating Jack Hawking in the semi final to go on and race against his team mate Marcus Larbalestier. The final saw Christie coming away with a strong win in a time of 3.41.9, a new record by 2 seconds.
The J18 double of Max Higgins and Charlie Falkus had an unfortunate day, with their race being scratched at the last minute. They were offered a row over but sadly didn't get the trophies they were hoping for.
At the veteran end of Minerva, 'Gandy' started their season on fine form. Andy Wallis and Gary John recorded a win in the open senior coxless pairs. Claiming to have been 'pushed' in the straight final they still managed to beat their opposition by 7 seconds, recording a time of 3.38.9.
